Red and Green Choices
As I was observing a lesson, I noticed that many of the student's didn't know basic classroom rules. Therefore, I made a red (bad choices) and a green (good choices) chart for the student's and the teacher to refer to throughout the day. Under red choices, I have yelling, breaking things, not following directions, hitting, etc. Under green, I have gentle hands, sharing, listening, answering questions and so on. If used correctly, this can help the teachers classroom management.
This red and green choices posted connects to UDL because it provides multiple means of representation. Most teachers verbally tell the students the "red" and "green" choices that are listed on the poster, however now the students can have a visual to look at. This red and green poster also provides multiple means of engagement because the information on the poster can help the students stay motivated and engaged at all times. This poster acts as reminder to the students about the good and bad behavior in the classroom. |
